One of my previous EMS partners father sells fire wood. Last year my partner brought me about 8 cubic foot of seasoned split cherry wood for me to try out. I've been mixing it with apple wood and it's been the bomb on smoked pork.
They harvested more cherry wood over the winter off the 40 acre farm and had plenty this year. So I just picked up 1 face cord of this processed Cherry Wood.  That's over 1,200 pounds!!!!!! I'm excited to have a stock pile at home that should last till me till 2019. Thanks Josh..

Trunk and trailer loaded up.

Yeah a lot of wood. Just like you guys that stock pile bags of charcoal.
I burn through this as I need to burn more till it becomes red hot coals to use in my kettle.
I already had a face cord of split Golden Delicious Apple Wood and needed Cherry for my 50/50 blend. I'm set now.

That's right. Your the guy who cooks with wood in the performer instead of charcoal. Please post some more cook pics when you can. Very cool.

Yes!!  He got side tracked collecting kettles but this is what I pay attention too. Still intrigued and have to try this and your butterfly cut pork butt.

I think my next non weber/kettle will be a stick burner. I am fascinated with the challenges of managing heat. I go back to all the Franklin Bbq shows I watched on pbs and the pits he uses.

My brother-in-law is bringing me a large quantity of pecan wood this weekend. I've got a decent supply of cherry, as well. Might not make it through 2019, but this should last quite a while. Very stoked!

I love cherry. I steal it from the cordwood we buy.
