First attempt at Ribs...
« on: May 13, 2017, 02:50:41 AM »
Taking the plunge today. Decided to do my first rack of ribs.

Minion method with coals banked to one side. Apple wood chunks.

Aiming for 225-235. Expecting 5-6 hour cook.

Rub is from local grocery chain. Any info on it?

I haven't seen that rub before. Good luck on your cook. Looks like you have a good setup and a good action plan. Are you going to wrap them? I don't wrap and I still get excellent results.

Im guessing you're having these for lunch. Ready around noon. I usually stick a toothpick in between the bones and when it goes in and out with ease they are done. My baby back ribs usually go 5 hours. Can't wait to see the finished pics.

All by myself today. One rack should be enough.

Had to finish in the oven, only for glazing, rain started pouring.

Anyway, everything looks good. Fried up some skillet taters for a quick side.

Trying a new sauce.

Tell me what you think...

Nice and juicy. Tug of the bone, not fall off the bone. Flavor was outstanding. If you see that sauce and rub in your local grocery give it a try.
