They work just fine but aesthetically not.  Stay away from Taco kettles if you wish but to me that is bit strange.  It is like avoiding or not buying a car of your dream because it has funny looking alloy wheels.

I just way much prefer the welded handle. I get the reasons of the taco just think they are god awful looking.

Same here. If I had a choice.... I want the welded handle. The beauty is in the eyes of beholder. It could easily be changed if you hate it that much as my car example.  So, What was your point!
