Anyone have a solution for getting the spark thingie to stay
« on: February 28, 2017, 06:57:23 AM »
The white ceramic tube that houses the igniting spark thing has a housing around it with a screw that holds it in place. The metal housing is a weak spot as it tends to rust out.  Do you think I could superglue it in place?

Found a part-

Wondering if the superglue would work though as it works perfectly fine when I hold it place to light.

Wrap some bailing wire around the ceramic part then loop that tight around the burner. Stainless if you can swing it. Or just pay the $7 for a new one :P

Not sure what the heat rating on superglue is but that tube gets hot. Just replace it. That assembly needs a good circuit for a proper spark.

Don't super glue it. I've also used hose clamps to hold those things up if I've stripped the thread. Although that little tab is rusted off on yours.

I think I'm gonna try this route (Bailing wire).

I'm sure it will work. Scrub the carbon off the electrode and tube first because the wire may be more work to remove and replace.
