Threw this on in an attempt to put some smoked chicken noodle soup on the table tonight for the rainy Southern CA weather.  Was inspired by Mikes post from last week.  More pics coming.

Thanks Kettle.  Pretty happy with how it turned out.  Definitely room for improvement though. Maybe a little less smoke, it overpowered the soup a little.

Disappointed I couldn't find any of the Goya ham seasoning!  Other than that I was very satisfied.  Great recipe...thank you for the inspiration!

That looks good!

Is that Lodge skillet you're using for the cornbread one of their deep ones?

Met8

No it's a normal skillet, it was a little too thin.  Double batch does the trick.

bow ties, super nice touch, souplooksfantastic, now I do the corn bread in an 8 inch dutch oven, over coals for that grillfella touch
If we were meant to grill with gas then the garden of Eden would have had a pipeline

Did you add the peas and corn towards the end?  I make sure not to worry too much about how it tastes until I've add the corn and peas.  It adds some sweetness to the soup.

Here is what the goya ham seasoning looks like:

Yes I added them at the end.  What store do you buy the seasoning from?  I want to do it again next time it rains with the ham seasoning!  Haha

I think I actually got it when I was on the east coast.  I have a hard time finding Goya in AZ so when I find it I stock up.  Walmart might have it.  The pic is from the Walmart website.
