**The Great 26" Ash Pan debate**

All you vintage 26'r owners and those looking for that elusive "original 26" ash pan" - what is the consensus??  Can it be had? Does Weber/eReplacements sell them?

I've had numerous inquiries regarding my recent acquisition of the EO red if it is indeed a 26" ash pan-WTF? I don't know! All I do know is that it looked good in the pics @Jeff sent me. It didn't really matter to me at the time.

I had some twist on's from 22's that are the same size and years ago when I had "Earl Grey" I ordered a replacement pan from Weber using the schematics only to find out it was the same size as the 22" pans (which really pissed me off when I had dozens laying around) I was able to recover the original J hook(which I thought was a DIY)

And when I was dropping the Red into the Ranch frame I happened to notice that the 26.75" OTG Ash can assembly is the exact same size as the 22" OTG/Master-Touch!! Who would have known? I have yet to see a Flat-Top "OTG" yet.

So what is the answer?? I saw a lot of 26'rs in a thread without pans and owners looking for an "original 26 pan" - so besides the U cutout/J hook pans what is considered "the real deal"???

Personally I think its a scam!

Lets get to the bottom of this once and for all!

We need someone with an original to give us a measurement.....

Are we questioning if the 26 pan is the same size as the 22 pan?   Yes, the 26 pan is larger.
Kettle collector AND cooker!

the OTG style ash catchers used on the one-touch 26" are the same as the ones used on the OTG 22"

The twist on ash pans and u-cut-out ash pans for the 26" are bigger than the ones used on a 22"

varekai

Well troy ended this possible bitch-fest....that was quick!...lol

need @Craig to confirm, he's the one with the notebooks about grills under his bed instead of playboys

Bob BQ

I don't see it as a possible bitch-fest. No one seems to have any, or can find buried in the posts here, documentation on the size of the original j-cut/twist-on ash pan for a MBH 26'r. Curious minds would like to find out.  @Craig , do you have that info?

Thanks!

OK- But can anyone provide dimensions?

I never took the time to measure the J hook 26" pan, but did have an 18" twist on side x side. If I remember the 22" almost sat in the 26'r pan.

Thanks @Jeff! For the sake of those searching for the "elusive 26'r pan" can you provide specs?

***As a side note***

Anyone considering a Mini Ranch with a 26'r Daisy wheeler - the 22" Ash pan perfectly fits (provided you measure twice and cut once!)

which measuremeants do you need? i have a 26 ash pan with the u cut outs and the little clip thingies.
It's full of water right now, like a wet diaper from the crotch of big red. @Craig

All of the above. And if anyone with a j-cut/twist-on ash pan can chime in with those measurements, it would be appreciated...

I pulled out some twist on ash pans. 26er is about 17-3/4 and 22 is about 15-1/2. Here are some pics.

P.S. If someone has an extra 18" twist on ash pan they want to part with I'd be happy to add that to the comparison .
