Ribs and ABT's on 14.5 WSM
« on: July 28, 2016, 01:30:39 AM »
I picked up one of the clearance Wal-Fart WSM's on Tuesday. I decided on ribs and ABT's for it's first cook.

Slab cut in half and rubbed with Memphis Meathead Dust

Fire Started

Ribs on

Turds on two hours later. Jalepenos cut in half, stuffed with cream cheese and sausage, wrapped in bacon, seasoned with Tony's

Settled in around 230 degrees. No real issues maintaining temp, leaky door though.

Stubbs Moppin' Sauce

Ready to come off

All done!

Looking for colored 18's and SJ's.

The door on the WSM leaked a lot. My 22 doesn't leak at all, but it's very well seasoned. Guess I'll have to start rolling this little guy out there more often so it can build a seal around the door.

The jalepenos I used for the turds were hooooooooooot! All in all, it was a good dinner and an easy cook.

I was just gonna say...is it a wsm, well then the door is gonna leak. My 22 wsm has sealed up okay, but still leaks somewhat

Food looks great, how was that Stubbs mopping sauce? Looks great!

My 22 seals up great, no leak at all from the door. The Stubbs mopping sauce is great on ribs. I think it works really well with the memphis meathead dust rub from AmazingRibs.
