Did some smokin in the cold
« on: January 19, 2016, 01:29:53 PM »
I did up some baby backs on the wsm 14 Sunday. It was in the 30's with no wind. I was worried the cold would affect the cook. Not at all. I actually had a hard time keeping the temp down below 250. Used kingford lump and worked like a charm. Cooked for 5 hours came out perfect. After they were off, I opened up the bottom vents and the temp soared to 350 and stayed there for another 2 hours. Love that cooker and after using that lump for the second time, it lasts a good while. Sorry no pics!

Good job. Yeah with no wind it is easier to get things set up.
