Craft beer

Fun thread.  I guess I count as a beer nerd/enthusiast.  I've been brewing for ~14 years and am a certified bjcp judge. Anyone else a homebrewer?  Unfortunately I haven't been able to brew much lately due to a seemingly never ending basement remodel, but the electric system is part of that project so I should be running full steam in a few months.

@blksabbath Nice set up. I have 1 keggle and just about a dozen brews under my belt. My next will be my first all grain brew, probably 2 weeks once I finish building my mash tun. Even though I have over 125 breweries within 30 miles of me I still dig a fresh made home brew, it's like bbq, it's better when you make it with your own 2 hands.

I just picked up a few bottles of Westvleteren Blonde, 8, and 12. I'm stoked to say the least. I had a 6-pack of the 12 during their limited USA release a few years ago but randomly ran into some again today.

Ahhh, a thread after my own heart! I live in New England, home of many beautiful craft breweries...The Alchemist, having it's famous Heady Topper is not far from me. And my state I live in now, has both Allagash and Maine Brewing Company.

My favorite currently is St Klippenstein, by Allagash

Got something from Allagash in a beer trade a while back. Don't remember exactly what, but it was I remember liking it. Don't get the following for Heady Topper. Super hoppy beers just taste like skunk spray.

Thank you! I am going to use that.  I live in San Diego County, THE HOME of over hopped IPAs.  It is a type that I just don't get.
I don't want a pine tree or grapefruit in my beer.
A good Scottish Ale or Imperial Stout and now we're talking.

Haha Seattle and Portland are WAYYYY worse. It's so bad that bartenders and servers may judge you if you ask for something thats not very hoppy.

Two of my favorites.  My brother teaches at Bates alives in Brunswick.  I went to Maine Brewing Company shortly after they moved into their new brewhouse...maybe 2 years ago.  Awesome beers.  I'll be back out that way in July.

If anyone is in the St. Louis area this weekend, check out the Brewers Heritage Festival down on the riverfront.  I'm pouring with Modern Brewery since our club couldn't get shit together for a tent.  Anyways, yell at me if you are there.

Love craft beers especially IPAs and Reds. One of my local favorites is Knee Deep. Just had a cople Dog Fish Head 90 Min IPAs and a Drake's Denoggizer.
