Does anyone have a good recipe for doing beer can chicken on a kettle using the gourmet roaster insert?  I really love doing beer can chicken, but I've always done it on a gas grill with an actual can.  I've finally switched to charcoal, and I'm interested in using the gourmet system that came with the Performer.

Thanks!

I am not exactly sure what you are referring to.

I have done BCC in the basement on a number of times.  No need for any fancy gadgets ....

I'm pretty sure he's talking about one of these that would fit in your gourmet grate. https://store.weber.com/accessories/category/cook/cookware/1476

Looks like a winner, I'd be filling the bottom with potatoes, carrots or any number of other vegetables and hoping at least some of the fat landed on it.

Let us know if you use it

I have been doing them on the cooking grate and it gets kind of cramped near the lid.  Cooking down in the basement is brilliant!  I'm going to give that a try next time I do some birds for sure.

I do them on the fire grate as well. Use the V to deflect direct heat
