Green SS Performer

I was finally able to pick up the grill. It has some good bones, but could use some cleaning up and a few missing/replacement parts. Check it out. I am also looking for which cover fits.

Congrats and welcome to the SS performer club.  It is a great grill.

Is the ash sweep working well?  Replacements for that year of grill are difficult to come by.

The cover you need is Weber 8701.  You can still find them on Amazon.

The sweep is working perfect. The ash catcher "Pot" has no issues locking into the round metal part, but the bracket that attaches that to the kettle itself is rusty and loose and I think a bit bent.

Congrats..she is mighty pretty.

Are you missing propane tank?

Take the ash catcher bar off..bend it upwards a bit and then reattach

1911Ron:Oh yes I will get more tomorrow. We were hit with a big storm, and I had to take quick pictures to avoid the rain.

Toolhead: it did not come with the small tank. I think I will be going with trying to use a 20 lb tank for the convenience of filling and saving a few dollars. I wont move it around much so the large tank wont bother me. I will give the bending back a try.

One thing I did notice that may be very hard to find is the black metal piece that goes across the front where the Weber logo is attached.

I am excited to get started cooking. I would have no problem with the rain, but these storms are crazzy

That's a nice looking green.

As far as the ash catcher bar, @zavod44 could supply you with a custom replacement made from aluminum.
I got one from him, and it is very well made, and strong, too.  Here is a link:
