The small chimney being discontinued was first mentioned 2 years ago. Last year was its last hurrah.
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

I do this for when I light a Minion.  I place a starter cube on an empty upside down 16 ounce beer can.  Then place the upside-down chimney with 6-8 brickets ontop of that.

I just checked the 2015 Weber catalog. The compact chimney is still listed.
Amazon is likely just out of stock, they move more product than most.

I suppose its still possible that weber discontinued it mid-season, but probably not.

Either way, I'm glad I have one. I use it more than the full sized.
Heck, i use my mini chimney when grilling with my 26r

I use one of the mini IKEA chimneys:

http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/30131716/

These are 4.75" D x 7" or x 5.25"

How does this size compare to the Weber Mini?
