I want to get a few accessories, throw a few cents at the WKC, and use my prime membership. But I can't find a 7447 Compact Rapidfire Charcoal Chimney on Amazon that isn't like $50. What's the deal?
-
I think it was discontinued

Order from Ace in store pick up.
-
I really like mine. It would be too bad if they discontinued it.
-
I use my mini more than I do the full sized one
-
Oh man, I hope it wasn't discontinued. I know I saw one at an Ace recently, hope it's still there. It's a pain lighting 12 briquettes in a standard chimney.
-
I see a run on the small chimney starters... I am going to grab one or two if I see em.
-
I have wanted to buy one. Thanks for the heads up if it is discontinued I will start searching my hardware stores.
-
I just flip the big one over for smaller starts.

No compact Chimney Starters (7447) on Amazon?
@Saugust , try amazon.ca. Weber spelled with two "B"s. ;D

Unfortunately none of those have the prime free shipping and most of the shipping makes those like $50 too. Thank for the look though. I'm going to try to snag one locally. It looks lie HD has them online too.

How far away is this for you?

Crate and Barrel carries if you have one local
-
I also love mine - I think I picked it up at a local hardware store.
-
Man, lots of good suggestions! I'll snag one somehow! Thanks, fellas.
-
I bought one at my local Ace Hardware and they had quite a few in stock.
-
The small chimney being discontinued was first mentioned 2 years ago. Last year was its last hurrah.

GRAIL
:o hahaha, guess I'll hold out for a blue one!
-
I just checked Home Depot, Lowes, True Value, Walmart and another true value... none of them had the little one... I am happy to have the one that I have. Works perfect with my SJ's
-
I just flip the big one over for smaller starts.
Yeah, but then where do you put the paper?!! ;D

I do this for when I light a Minion. I place a starter cube on an empty upside down 16 ounce beer can. Then place the upside-down chimney with 6-8 brickets ontop of that.
-
My local Orchard Supply Hardware Store had ~10 in stock at $11 a pop.
-
I just checked the 2015 Weber catalog. The compact chimney is still listed.
Amazon is likely just out of stock, they move more product than most.
I suppose its still possible that weber discontinued it mid-season, but probably not.
Either way, I'm glad I have one. I use it more than the full sized.
Heck, i use my mini chimney when grilling with my 26r

I use one of the mini IKEA chimneys:
http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/30011832/ (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/30011832/)
http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/30131716/ (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/30131716/)
These are 4.75" D x 7" or x 5.25"
How does this size compare to the Weber Mini?
-

I don't use paper...I use a propane weed burner.
-
Whew! The wait is over! Stopped by an ACE when I visited my sister last night and they had one for $11. Sweet! Score! Right? Lol, it was a grail, so I'm calling it a score.

Thanks to a HD gift card, my compact rapidfire will arrive on Monday!
