No more sea salt in Chicago Steak?

Noticed my new Weber Chicago steak seasoning containers no longer list the first ingredient as sea salt. Just salt. There used to be graphics on the front label showing "made with sea salt". I use this stuff on any and every thing.  May have to adjust the amount I add to cooks to avoid an overly salty flavor. Cost cutting I guess but it disappoints me.

Not sure but I would do a side by side between both before you run out of your old stash. You may like the new stuff just as much and/or not need to adjust ratios.

Agree with pbe gummi bear. In my opinion sea salt is best as a finishing salt. It can be kind of expensive compared with regular old kosher salt, most salts put on before cooking kind of melt into the meat.

Use the sea salt on a steak right before it hits the table.

this!

it kills me when I see people using a delicate fleur de sel in a rub or pre-cook.

I just bought a big container of it last week at Costco, and it says "Made with 100% Sea Salt" on the front label, and the first ingredient is Sea Salt.

Might be old stock. It was just reformulated in the last few monthes.

If I use a store bought rub, I prefer no salt added ones.  That way I can control the amount of salt (coarse, sea, or otherwise)
I do like the Weber ones though.
