18" Redhead "G" transforms into OTG Spot!

I picked this little Red "G" up during the Summer and its been on the backburner awaiting some attention. Missing the ash pan and the sweeps were toast.

Pre rehab with Cajun Bandit Reversible Rotisserie ring.





Found a couple old ash pans and buffed them up.



Added a stainless steel cook grate and some charcoal rails and installed the new One Touch sweeps.



I was waiting on some replacement handles and kind of sitting back and pondering pulling the trigger on an OTG ash catcher assembly, when this showed up on craigslist for $20.



An "AU" 18" OTG donor kettle.

although, just reading the thread title, I can understand how some folks my have different expectations about the subject matter when deciding whether or not to click...just sayin.

OK - well the OTG Ash can assembly swap went more seamless than I would have imagined. I thought for sure I'd have to drill into the leg sockets, but instead was able to use a pair of tin snips to remove @ 1/4" of one of the tabs and it fits like downtown!





Swapped the legs/wheels/triangle and handles from the "AU" OTG



Stainless steel grate



New sweeps



Expando-rail



Tool Hanger handle on front

I never realized there was an SS grate available in the smaller size. My Google-fu is weak today.
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch
