Too fast...

Too Much Fun...

No such thing.

Trying out the new CI Wok I picked up from Walmart...

http://weberkettleclub.com/forums/off-topic/ci-walmart-com/

Works good in the Gourmet Grate...

Gonna try some fried rice...

That's a whole chimney load under the wok - too hot too fast

Now onto the orange chicken...

The chicken handled the heat good, but the sauce had a hard time...

Not bad, but next time I'll try less coals...

Cook and learn. Just too much fun

Thanks for looking.
Dude, relax your chicken.

Good show on the first time around....sauce just got a little too seared / tacky?

The 1st real cook I did on the big wok, I dumped in a pile of lump to deep fry & the oil went right up to 350 & just camped there......"this is way too easy" thought me......I've had a few missteps since......the actual size of the pan & how much heat it needs makes some difference, I'm thinkin'...............

    Covered, damper-controlled cooking.....IF YOU PLEASE !!!

Yeah, you're right. And the CI wok really holds the heat.

I like it.
Dude, relax your chicken.

I picked up a wok pan that looks identical to yours except the markings on the thick bottom,
mine is blank. It needs a cleaning though and the 2 sided griddle is ready to go.
When I saw it my first thought was deep fried tater salad. Now you guys got me thinking a
bit outside my "normal" box.

Read your post last week and thought about it.  Saw this tonight, and I bit the hook. Gonna hit Walmart this afternoon.

Dazzo - you are the wok master!  My buddy Argentflame just gifted me a Gourmet grate system and I am really looking forward to trying out some Woks for the system.  This post was very helpful.  I have to imagine it is much more difficult to use charcoal than that great gasser setup you have.

Winz

PS - nice top on that Performer by the way.  Granite?
In an ongoing relationship with a kettle named Bisbee.

fedex - I ordered mine online and had it shipped free to my local Walmart Market. Of course I'd like to have the Weber CI Wok for the Gourmet system, but at $60 +/-, the Wok from W at $21 was a little easier to handle.

Winz - Yeah, I figured hey, I'm one of those charcoal people, what the heck, let's throw it on the performer. I should have used the 'training wheels' provided by using the kettle gasser. My wife was OK with how it turned out, and I think she would have let me know if it wasn't     ;D

PS - thanks. Yes, it's granite. Green to match the C&B. Needs a photo shoot for the Mod Month - I wonder if the Tailgate Sisters are available?   :o
Dude, relax your chicken.
