A couple days ago, I get a PM from Alfonso.....really nice guy....helped me by sending heads-ups on the Blue MasterTouch, a Stainless wok, and maybe even other things...... got to meet him at the Napa Meetup earlier in the year & we all had a grand old time !!!

Anyway.....it says this:

"Hello Buckie!  I spotted this in your area.  Looks like a very clean yellow.   Alfonso"

....with a tag to an estate sale.....right at the edge of the 30 minute limit...... :o

I'm dead-ass broke so I send a note along to Winz & Mirkwood.....both up in the hills above this area & put in a note to the auction people to see f it's still there after two days of a 4 day sale, saying I'll find out but probably won't be able to afford it unless they are throwing stuff away at the end........... :P

Lance (Mirkwood) decides to go down & check it out, as he's kinda right across the hill from that area (NE of Me)....bingo !!!

Still there & he swoops it up !!!

Now, the plot thickens, as I always remember good turns & attempt to repay in some way, large or small, and get Alvin (ArgentFlame)  somewhat involved in the fray, maybe thinking he'd like to have this, in return for his massive help in acquiring the 26" Wood Dale of a few days ago..........

I succeed in confusing the hell out of both Alvin & Lance & have to re-explain my convoluted thinking on these kinds of things...... :o :o :o

In the end, Lance simply asks : "You do want the Yellow, don't you?"  & Alvin says : " Don't be buyin' me nothin'.....I FEEL a Grail coming along here soon...."
Thank gawd for simplicity !!!!

So, this afternoon, Lance is in town for dr. appts. & such & drops this by ~~~>

Pat. Pending Yellow.....VERY few chips of any kind....thing was correctly put together, most likely only once, as Lance said it was way tight in the leg sockets.....very clean, handle is weathered, but everything else is just exactly right !!!!

Don't know if you can see it, but there's yellow spray inside the socket....

And......there's even more plot twists on this one.....way not done here....... :) ;D :) 8)

Lance says he's GIVING ME the kettle.....yes, YOU, of the Weber Kettle Club, read that clearly, distinctly & correctly.....HE GAVE ME THE KETTLE !!!!

Would not take anything in return....cash, spare new parts, smoke wood I had all boxed up for him....NOTHING !!!!

I'm still in shock.....he & Alvin are going to have a birthday party, somewhere, sometime....they are going to have a birthday party !!!!

.......................but wait.....there's more !!!!

He also left me this :

A real decent "C" Code Smokey Joe....also from the sale...... 8)

This is an accurate representation of approximately how things are with the wife about now :

But, I did jump up & cook up a rock star lunch for her earlier in the day......on the Beast.....

This thing is unreal, setup produced 425f that ran as long as I needed it..........

Bingo !!!!

After all, it's really about the end product, right?

Let's eat, dear !!!

Lance, thank you very, very much....don't quite know if there's anything more I could say other than I'm glad I met 'ya & not merely for today only.....you're a great guy & a helluva cook too !!!!
