Using the "Western" brand smokewood chunks from Walton's Market for the first time.
Wow !
That stuff really puts out the smoke (Mesquite).

I'd been using the coarse chunks from Smokehouse Products here in Hood River.
No comparison between the two.

If you want smoke, either roll your own or try the Walton's Market offerings....cheap... $5-something per 576 cu. in.

I've used the Western stuff quite a bit in the past.....going more with what I can cull from the surrounding environment lately, but it always has seemed pretty good......

Got their hickory in there (kettle) now and I've got some bona fide thin blue smoke going on.

I wish we had more choices for smokewood here.  I have to go by the no name brands they get in lowes or home depot.  Or I luck out and can get some apple wood at the local orchards.
