Last week I did some KFC and I wanted to break in my CI pan I got as a gift. I used the brand "Shore Lunch", bought a whole fryer, cut it up and dredged it in that and egg. It came out pretty tasty. My wife's late Grandmother used to make fried chicken in a CI skillet and I wanted to try, key word TRY to come close. She was happy with how it came out but we know, we'll never replicate a grandmother's methods or recipes perfectly. So this is the next best thing, so far. I dont think i used enough oil, hence the slightly burnt parts, but still turned out.

The chosen cooker...

Look who finally remembered to take plated pics...  ::)   Made some biscuits with it.

Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks guys! I did another round last night. This time with McCormick extra crispy. Soaked in milk, patted dry and then dredged. This time I used my tried and true paella pan and a redhead that lets just say, requires an oven mitt to handle the lid  8)  (Hunter's Pink).

This was early in the cook. It was super crispy which I like! Growing up back when the K in KFC stood for Kentucky, I always preferred Col. Sanders extra crispy.
