Another Canada Day Cook in progress....
« on: July 01, 2014, 03:42:11 PM »
Well, Happy Canada Day to the members from up north! Its a beautiful day here in BC so what better day to do my first 2 kettle cook. I want to try out the cast iron gourmet system for some skillet potatoes so sides on C&B and my also my first ever blue kettle cook for the steaks!

Here's my youngest (and largest!) with his flag

Meat and potatoes!

And all the recent pineapple bacon posts made it an easy call for a second side  :)

More to follow as the evening progresses...

Time for another beer!

That lime green performer is bloody awesome!!!  Never seen a shot of one of those....I'd have one of those in a second.  Tell me....have you ever smoked steak before?  Smoke em' real low - under 200f but above 160f.  Pull em' when they start to dehydrate and firm up....say 30 minutes to an hour depending on your chamber temp.  Then grill them.  They will turn a deep red when grilled.
"Why do you have so many bbq's?"....."I just like lookin' at em' sometimes....and I have enough purses and shoes"

Thanks! The green performer was stolen from a new C&B and transplanted onto the SS. I should have another new "custom" by the end of the week if all goes to plan  ;D

Smoked steak sounds amazing and I will be trying this soon! Thanks for the tip

Looks like a great day. The pic of your son made me lol. Make sure he keeps his weiner away from the hot kettles!
