Performer / WSM Table
« on: June 28, 2014, 10:40:26 AM »
I recently finished my Performer/WSM table and I thought I would share it with all of you grillfellas. The WSM sidles up next to the table, you can put a kettle there instead for a two kettle cook. The table is butcher block, the cabinet is pine with aluminum panels for the sliding doors. I re-purposed the arcs I cut out for the grill and WSM as a place to mount my tool hooks. For heat shields/decorative edging, I used aluminum that is normally used for roof valleys. I folded it in half for a smooth edge and formed it to fit the shape of the arcs. The finish was two coats of Sherwin Williams Pecan stain and two coats of Minwax poly varnish.

The extra space really comes in handy! My wife loves it when she does her stir fry and it gives me plenty of room for whatever I am grilling or smoking.

Ikea has a relatively nice countertop butcher block for a decent price. I currently use this for a desk.  I had to do some finish sanding to get a nice, smooth surface.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments! I acquired the piece of butcher block at Menards, it was cheaper than the one I saw at Ikea. Pretty decent quality too.
