Arguably my best meal in Colorado...
« on: May 05, 2014, 08:37:16 PM »
Enjoyed a wonderful dinner with my family at The Fort restaurant in Morrison, CO. My favorite was the Elk chop and bison steak.  A must for anyone visiting Denver, CO.

Rocky Mountain Oysters

Nice job on cooking the elk and bison, I will let the rocky mountain oysters alone.
Thanks for sharing.

All cooking was done by The Fort restaurant. Surprisingly, the rocky mtn oysters really didn't have any taste to it.  Had a texture similar to chicken/turkey gizzards if you've ever had that. Hell, anything deep fried will taste good.

Been a couple times and never felt the food quality stood up to the prices. Very nice place though and the whiskey with gunpowder shots are a fun twist as well.

I can't speak for your experiences there, but the food was fantastic during our visit. Yes, prices are on the high side, but I felt it was very comparable to what I would have paid in any high end steak house too. My trio game meat plate was $49, which I thought wasn't too bad.
