So I finally have had some free time to inspect dissemble and clean and fire up the Crate and Barrel performer I scored last month.

Here are some pics as it sat when I got it home before dissembling and cleaning.

Okay so that is some pics before cleaning started. Now cleaning.

Cleaning.

Tools of the trade. This kettle I scraped before using oven cleaner and then scrubbed after the oven cleaner and then had to do another round of that before it was clean alot of baked on gunk.

Scraped out gunk.

Damaged areas

Second round of cleaning

Last bit of gunk removed. Had to remove the sticker on the back panel and paint it and also removed some paint that was on the axle and wheels and bottom of legs.

Assembled pics right after being done and then some of it coming out of the garage today to be used and joining the other performers.

Pics of it coming out today.

Joining the group.

Last couple are some panoramic view pics I took with the phone.

The first fire in it.
Then bringing it up to temp.

Then one last one of the group.

Thanks for looking and hopefully the pics shoe how much I like this kettle.

nice work. those dings on the lid rim look almost identical to the ones buddy had. I scrubbed the rust off w/a chore boy and some dish soap then sprayed some black rustoleum bbq paint into a cup and used a brush to cover the bare spots. obviously doesn't color match, but so far it's held up well and kept the rust from spreading.

Love it!

So would you call a group of performers a Band? Or maybe a gang?

I would say band! I like that, I now can tell people I have a band of performers. So do you call a bunch of kettles?
