I agree it's not ideal but kinda the best of both worlds. I think the slide aside looks lamer, even if it is more functional according to some.

I fully agree here.  Bale is way cooler than the slide aside contraption.

Welcome to the WKC and super clean red OTS! I'm leery of cutting a healthy red's handle(s) off, but I defer to the others here that are experts in the handle mods and cutting. Making it a Gold would be a snap though.  :D . My first 22 is the same two tone red, except its a '95 (EO).

I'm completely crazy when iy comes to stuff like this but I woould never cut the handle off the kettle in question.....it's just too nice.....find a 'Turd if you want to do silly shit like that...... 8)
