I bought a Weber slate 30". I haven't had a gasser in over 10 years and that was a short stint with an older genesis rehabbed and let go. Been running two performers since 2015. One is a green 2015 performer the other a black SS.l I forget the year off the top of my head late 90's I wanna say. The SS is pretty clean minus some fading on the kettle its self. The green has a few chips and light rust on the shelf. Torn on which to keep on the patio with the new griddle. The loser is going to the camp house to replace the one touch platinum up there.  Figured I'd consult the council for opinions.

It is probably the best they ever made. I've thought of swapping the kettles so I'd keep the green with the SS but I do prefer the twist lock ash catcher.

Funnily enough I was going to say the same but I also like the non taco thermo handled lid, belongs with the SSP!

I vote SSP... Best performer they ever made and it looks great beside the new slate!

I would keep the SSP at the main crib, for two reasons -
1) I think it would be neat to have something old and something new.
2) Both black, with stainless steel tables, so they match.

Do they both have covers?

Yeah I have covers on all three. I currently have all three out there and might of pulled a fast one on the wife... we'll see how long until she complains. Lol. I think long term the stainless makes sense. Plus it has a sweet sticker I had added. "The wood makes the difference"
