The only problem I have with the newer lid bail is that the threads stick so far in that it was a pain to get the cooking grate on. I ended up taking a cut off wheel and trimming them down a bit.

Yep!  I had to do exactly the same thing.  I used a dremel with a cutting bit.

I always add a couple of washers to space the bale out a little bit more.  Never thought of trimming it with the dremel [emoji106]
