Ok, so who has done it and what type of place did you take it to. I want to get some smokey joes painted first just to see how it comes out. I have called a few places locally that deal in porcelain & ceramic painting but have yet to find a place that is willing to do it. I see customs on here from time to time. Any suggestions?

Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill

Yeah, I have seen his wk, so killer!

Jeff has done 2 projects for me, and will be doing a few more soon.
Top-notch work.  I would not consider using anyone else.

For those that have had a kettle done, can you share the price?

Thanks,

Robert

I've not had one done, but I did receive a quote from IPE for a Weber Go Anywhere - $200 plus shipping to and back.  I decided to wait.

I had a little 14" WSM cerakoted blue by Atlantic Powder Coating in Jacksonville, FL.  It was a couple hundred IIRC.

For that money just buy a new Weber. Slings and arrows headed my way now!

As a permanent looker kettle, you can paint it any color you want with a non porcelain coating, but as soon as you get that urge and fire it up, the paint will burn right off!

They do have afew high temp paint colors at Homedepot/Lowe's - One Youtuber "Heavy Metal BBQ" painted his silver. $11 a can

Brake caliper paint works well, looks good, and the temp rating is 900 degrees F.

The best way to get a solid finish is with the porcelain coating. Independence Porcelain is the best bet. I've yet to see a "high heat" paint or anything "rattle canned" hold up. Unless you retire it from service and designate it a permanent "looker".

I rattle-canned a couple chips, both inside and outside the kettle using brake caliper paint. Looks good, and has held up through many grillings.
