Summit rusting
« on: June 29, 2021, 06:57:04 PM »
I saw this on a Facebook forum for Summit Charcoal Grill owners.  Quite bizarre!   Apparently, Weber is replacing the impacted parts.

Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill

That rust is actually the ring part of the cart.  The bowl sits in that ring and is separated with some rubber strips.

Is it painted instead of enameled?

I think it is painted.
Mine is ok but the sheet metal on the lower flat part where the bin sits has some rust forming on it. I was thinking about getting a sheet of black abs plastic  to cover it. Maybe they would replace it for me. I would almost prefer the wire rack that is on the current version

That rust looks ridiculous. I wonder if it is just a coastal and uncovered dealio.
