So I just recently bought this weber and after doing a little research I believe it was made in  1996. I called weber today and  they don't make any parts for this model anymore.  She also told me that this grate is smaller than the newer 26.5.  So if I wanted to buy a new grate where is a good place to purchase? Thanks!

Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill

Kills grills can make that size for sure. He has a website - just google killa grilla and go to product page. It's a great grate! Feel the pain of spending the money once and enjoy for the rest of your life. I have the 22 with the S&S flip grate.

Killa grilla grates are da bomb. Pricey, but the last grate you will ever buy for that grill.

Totally agree. Bought an older flat top 26" last year and faced the same dilemma. Killa grills grates are absolutely the way to go. Heavy duty stainless steel, exceptional workmanship and friendly service. Can't ask for anymore.

Weber still carries a replacement cooking grate made for vintage 26" kettles.  The part number is #66910. The grate is a different size (24.5") because the grate straps are set lower in vintage 26ers opposed to the newer 26" kettles.  Unfortunately, a lot of Weber Customer Service Reps are not able to research and find the part number.  I was fortunate to get a very knowledgeable rep a few years back that found a lot of parts for vintage kettles.  Weber had them in stock as recently as a few months ago.   You'd have to give Weber CS a call and give then the above part number.   BTW, the vintage 26" charcoal grate part number is #66911.

If you decide to go the Killa Grilla route, the part number is KG6245 that will fit the vintage 26 in kettle.  These grills are beasts weighing 9 lbs.

This one fits perfect in this small tab flat top, may not be 100 lbs of raw 304 horse power but it's $80 and weber.

Killagrilla grates in action on a vintage 26.   Well worth the money.  10 pounds of 304 ss.   1/4 inch bars.  You'll only need to buy them once.  The plated steel Weber replacement is $100 with shipping.  Don't buy it.

How do they hold up to the vortex?  I use that accessory quite often.
