RRR, I really enjoy bringing the shine back to an old kettle that was well used but found it's way to me. This is a story about a rescue. I was given notice about a NOS 1981 kettle not far away (thanks
@Mike in Roseville ). I responded to the ad with an offer but didn't hear back. As time went on I figured someone else snapped it up until I checked my phone this morning. He hit me back with a counter while I was on a run so we agreed on a time for me to stop by and check it out. We got to talking about collections (kettles, & old toys) when his daughter said "we found it on the side of the road". He told me a new price because he didn't have money in it. Turns out his family is new to the area and the decided to head out for a walk. Passing a home they saw a weber box that was put out for the local bulk waste pick up (destination dump). So he brought it home and did a little research before offering on a local forum. I paid him, swapped a few more stories and headed home. Glad this one was saved from the scrap heap.
