Mysterious metallic hande

Hello bbq enthusiast,

I have recently purchased a Weber Q1400 which I really like  ;D
There is a little metallic handle under the barbecue (see attached images) and I was wondering if it serves some kind of precise purpose, or is it just here so you can candle anything on it?

Winding the cable on it for quick storage? That’s my idea. What’s it say in the owners manual?
