Wheel Restoration

What's the best way to restore old metal wheels? The restoration guides don't cover that. Scrub the rust off with steel wool and repaint as necessary?

Soak them in some Evapo-Rust. They'll clean up nice.

Just get the evapo-rust.  The stuff is a miracle chemical.  I bought a bucket of the stuff to do a clean up on my Ranch and I am just going to be throwing rusty stuff in it right and left.  It is reusable too until it gets super filthy.  You can pick it up on amazon. 

It isn't harmful to you, it is non-toxic, and it doesn't harm paint.  The only instance I have heard of it harming paint is when rust gets under the paint and when it eats the rust the paint no longer has something to adhere to.

Evaporust it is. Is that something you can pick up at a Meijer and/or Wal-Mart?

I wanna say the last couple gallons I picked up were at Advanced auto parts. A lot of auto parts stores have it. I think Farm and fleet carries it too.

You can get a 5 gallon bucket shipped to your local Home Depot for pickup.

Home Depot has it in 5 gallons and Amazon had it in 5 gallons at the same price.  Unfortunately Amazon is out of stock for the time being.
