Hi, new here. I just picked this up today. What's the deal with the one handle bowl, the skimpy triangle and the bolt on vents? Seems to be a lower end model. I paid $50 which was probably too much but it's in pretty good shape and should make some good Q.
Anyway, this is my first Weber that I plan on using in about 20 years. Looking forward to learning how to master these amazing machines...

Ah, that is the Weber Bar-B-Kettle. Lower end model sold with user installable vents and the economy (racing triangle). They are great cookers.

Not to be confused with the old Bar-B-Q-Kettle from the MBH era.

Looking for: Red MBH 26"(The Aristocrat), Chestnut-coppertone (The Estate), Glen-blue (The Imperial), and The Plainsman.

Nice kettle to start with. I am not sure why they started making them with only one handle.  The EE code is a 1999. I know that Weber did make some basic kettles at a lower price point that had a bit more skimpy triangle.  You will get many many cooks out of that one.  Welcome to the addiction

A no-frills kettle. It can do everything that a loaded one can, except light itself.
A bunch of black kettles

What you want two handles for? I guess they are good it you want to pick up the whole kettle and carry it, or hang extra tools. Problem is it forces you to hang the lid on the side of the kettle. I much prefer the back of the kettle opposite of the handle. Your kettle is as close as it gets to the older kettles. Might be worth keeping nice and holding onto.

Bolt on vents are a plus. They can be cleaned.

Radio station WEFUNK 50,000 kilowatts of PFUNK power.

The Legs are on wrong.  The Handle should be inline with the front foot.

Pull the legs and rotate until the foot is inline with the handle and reinstall.  All fixed!

Yep.. econo cooker.  I have a few just because ya just can't pass up a $5 weber kettle...

Lets just say I have acquired a few Kettles.  Big and small.   Vintage and New...  Some say I have a problem.  I find the Kettle, buy the Kettle, USE the Kettle...No problem...

Really!?
It took until the 7th post for someone to yell CADDYWAMPUS!!
You guys are off your game!!! :P

I've got one just like it at home, though not near in that nice condition.
It's one of our favorite cookers.

Thanks for the reply. I like the older Kettles and like the fact it has the triple vents to learn the old way. I also have this but trying to sell it. I'll get another vintage one

Could you explain that? Not sure what a daisy wheel is. Is it like mine but without the "stops"?
