So I picked this up a couple of weeks ago in what was without a doubt the most sketchy place I've been to get a grill.  It's a true gray N code Bar-B-Que kettle.  It had an actual gun shot wound (diagnosed by Jim) that I patched up a couple of weeks ago.  Today I finished the restoration.  New ash pan, grill grates, sanded and stained the handles, and a surprisingly easy clean up of the interior.  She's going into use tonight.

Grate kettle.  Grate story, although I can't imagine there's any sketchy areas in Vegas.  Would love to see some before pics of the bullet hole.

Obviously looking for a Glen Blue (who isn't?😂).

Looking for anything Happy Cooker, including any re-branded as Montgomery Ward.  I've amassed a nice collection, but I'm missing a few still.  Let me know if you can help a fella out🤞

That would make a good temp probe hole

By the way...this grill has a black triangle and one bowl handle...was this an econo kettle of the early 90s?

I think we (WKC members) call them Economy kettles but it would have been a Bar-b-Kettle per the WKC MT history thread.  Yeah, sadly I took quite a few evidence photograph of holes like that in vehicles.

Pretty sure it's still there beneath the washer covering the hole.

When @crowderjd  posted this on Facebook, there was no sign of an exit hole.  Probably all of the bullet's energy was spent creating the entry hole.  The mangled bullet was probably sitting in the bottom of the bowl, mixed in with ashes.

Yes that's a Bar-B-Kettle and it's different than the Dove Gray from Crate and Barrel. I have this grills twin brother minus the bullet hole.

That's with high figured cherry Zav wood.

Congrats on the find!
