Picking this up this weekend. Told its in ready to go shape and has a new igniter. Anything I should be checking for? Any one own one of these?

My short research tells me its a A4 Summit 2005/2006. Is this correct?

Thanks in advance

The flavorizer cross bars on these tend to fall apart. The oem ones are pricey but RCplanebuyer makes some that will last forever.

PBE is spot on.  The crossover tubes on this model are right in the middle of the burner tubes.  The flavorizer bars are welded to a cross piece making them much more expensive than the fb's on other models.

Also, on the lower cook ox, only the sides are cast aluminum.  The front and back are porcelain coated stamped steel.   The front of the cook box has a tendency to corrode right above where the burner tubes poke through.    If you pull off the knobs and take off the control panel, you should be able to inspect the outside front.   Pull the grates and flavorizer bars and check the inside front as well.

Also, I can't remember right now whether the bottom of the cart is a solid panel or wire basket.  If it's a solid panel, check carefully for rust.

It needed to much replaced so I passed. Think I might just save and get a new model for 300-400$

We have the current equivalent of that old Summit.

The E-470.  Absolutely love it.

It's a bit more than $300-$400 though.

Going into its third Summer and we have replaced nothing.
Although it needs a new light switch for the knobs.
VERY heavily used.
Even if we're just using the kettles it's pressed into service
as a warming/holding oven and steam table.
Only regret is that we maybe should have chosen the E-670
for it's larger capacity.
