No thanks! I will pass. IMO, even that neat GBS cooking grate on 18" is kind of useless. Much more useful on 22" kettles.

If the Kettle Plus GBS 47cm does happen to make it to America, all it is really, is just a Weber 18.5 inch Master Touch, without the char-baskets and warming rack. I'm for it! I doubt we would ever see the Kettle Plus in America, though.

I will say that I am intrigued by the red wheel covers with the black bowl/lid. Kind of a callback to the 1956 era kettles. I'd love to do those on a black Master Touch or better yet, a 26er.

In a word, NO.

While Weber makes all this interesting (in the eye of the beholder) stuff and stores it in their warehouses and has a website where you can order direct, they consistently refuse to make that kind of stuff available to the US market . . . when it would cost them NOTHING to give us access to it.

Fortunately, their warranty and customer service is pretty d@mn good.

I can do without all the red accents, butt really want that GBS cooking grate. And what is the purpose of the weird-assed charcoal grate?

I have a mid 90's red MT with that style of charcoal grate.  That's what I thought the indentation was for as well.  Put your lighter cube(s) in there, and put your charcoal or chimney over it.

We have it in every store!
It’s not that ugly but it’s more a toy than a serious  grill.
Expensive ? Yes.
But we have to pay 430$ for the 22”red ltd. edition  so what is expensive?

The Plus is more or less sold as a designer product than a grill.

I like the charcoal grate. I wish I had that on the 22 inch. Otherwise it looks like another red hustle by weber. We can call it the "euro kettle", with the bird bath ash bowl.

I have a Euro Gray SJ... the charcoal grate on it has quite a few more bars on it than the US charcoal grate... as a result, they are spaced closer together... meaning those smaller bits of charcoal don't necessarily fall through. It looks like this 18 has the same.

Will America get the kettle plus?  Simple answer is no. Same reason that America didn't get the coloured mastertouch grills. Weber figured out that they will not sell there.
