2017 has been a very fulfilling year for me. I joined the WKC on 1/8/17, learned a lot, and eventually purchased 2 OTG Blues, a 1997 & a 2002 this past summer. But in my view the real value the WKC brings is all the information, knowledge of everyone and their willingness to share it. All the info I received such as restoring the 2 Blues, cooking information and other referenced grilling sites, I think has made my cooking experiences more enjoyable and me, a better BBQ chef. Not only has the WKC given me a wealth of information but also the confidence to try to cook competitively. I brought one of my Blues to a steak competition this past September and I had a blast. I placed 25 out of 35, not grate, but I think respectable considering I had no idea what to expect. I also learned even more and plan to compete again in 2018. But I can tell you with 100% assurance, I would have NEVER thought about competing if it wasn't for the WKC. Thanks everyone and hopefully 2018 will be a terrific year for all of us.
