Lid handle broke
« on: July 02, 2017, 04:45:39 PM »
This happened to me two days ago when I lifted the lid off my black performer while cooking lunch.  The two spot welds that hold that end of the handle to the lid gave out under the weight of the lid.

Are there any recommended repairs for this?  I've temporarily swapped the lid with the one from my black kettle that doesn't see use to get by.

A: When you are not allowed to question it.

Not that I know much about steel and metals in general but it looks like a clean break. Steel wool both sides and then re-weld it?

I was initially thinking resistance/spot weld it back in place or try jb weld.
