Busy weekend
« on: June 11, 2017, 11:30:29 AM »
My friend picked up my first Blue 22 E code for me yesterday for 25. I just picked up 2 Gen1 Performers of CL for free. Both are in poor shape but I think I can make one good one out of the two. Time to get to work.

Both black. Tops are both dented.
P & EZ. One has gas assist the other doesn't.

Rubber mallet will take care of the dents.

Now I'm not sure about this gas assist bowl. Almost rusted through.
What do you guys think?

So I was sitting having a cup of coffee at 9 AM and I decided to look on CL.
First thing that comes up is a free Gen 3 Performer. I look and it's only been up for 56 minutes.
I text the person I will come and pick it up today. They respond that it's mine and by 11 we are on the road.
We arrive about 12:30 and the grill is on the front lawn. I'm getting psyched. As I approach I can see rust and craving on the lid. I don't care, it's free. Upon getting it home I look it over and boy did he get this thing HOT. I have some work to do, but to me that's half the fun. I'll post more pictures as I restore it.
This makes 2 SSP and 1 Gen 3 in a month. Can't understand people.  Oh well

How hot do you think this person got the bowl.
Glad I have some spares.

The OneTouch system is toast.
Don't think it was ever cleaned.

Bowl interior came out nice.
Next will be to razor off plastic on exterior of bowl.
Washer on outside of bowl stuck to the outside in melted plastic.
