My wife's first kettle

Dropping off some items at a local Goodwill today, and we passed by a consignment shop we usually check out, but I was heading home and not paying attention. For the first time ever, my wife says "Did you see that blue grill over there?" I NEVER see grills around here! My head snapped around. A Master Touch no less. EE code, 1999. Needless to say, this happened:

Everything was in order, dirty (not bad at all) but no visible chips dents or scars. Minor rust on the triangle. Will have to replace the sweeps, but I have a set ready to go. Still had the baskets, which had not seen much action.

Oh, and you probably noticed it came with this:

The handle is off kilter a bit, (possibly from the factory?) but I don't want to pop any porcelain, so it might stay this way.

My wife says it's a really pretty blue, and blue is her favorite color, and she found it, so it's her grill. No problem!

More to come...

Beautiful grill......love the blue. Hey, sounds like you will have a little competition going now. Great find. What will she cook first?

Well, this was the easiest restore in a long time. Even the one-touch system came out with no cutting or bolt breakage. Minimal use of a razor, mostly steel wool and Bar Keepers Friend. Need to tighten up the legs a bit and deal with the messy graphic on the one-touch ring, but this thing saw very little use in it's life. Lid handle straightened up with no trouble. Whew! I'll work on the table a bit too, but not today. I had to mow the lawn and grill up bunch of chicken.

My favorite color MT.  Those Koa handles really look good on that blue.  Mrs. 56MPG did pretty good on finding her first kettle.
