Do you guys ever do raffles to raise money for the forum?

Hey all,

I am still new here, so my apologies if this is already a thing that I am not aware of. But I am basing this suggestion on something that I have seen done on a watch forum (another collection that I cannot afford) that I am on. About once a month, they do a membership drive (you can access special parts of the forum if you are a VIP) to raise money to keep the lights on for the forum that we really enjoy. For a $10 membership fee, you can win a watch or accessory, pretty simple. They use a site that generates a random number to pick a winner so everything is pretty fair. Of course there are also sites that manage all of this for you as well.

I was thinking that this could be a fun way to raise some additional funds for the WKC to keep the lights on and get people engaged. The prizes can be anything from cool accessories like a Smoke thermometer, a Kettle Pizza, a rotisserie, etc. to an actual kettle if someone is willing to donate a special CL find that was cleaned up.

I know you guys have a lot of cool things going on every month and there are prizes involved, but was just thinking that this could be a different way to raise some additional funds and keep people engaged.

Again, sorry if this is already a thing you guys do and I had no idea. I will be happy to buy a "raffle ticket" either way.

Just finished one. Happens every once in a while. Raffles can be legally challenging given our worldwide membership. We've looked into many ways to do this, and there are roadblocks that make it difficult.

Other than that, check out this link for other ways to support the club, and thanks for your interest in keeping the lights on.

What Marty said!

The easiest way is to simply click that Amazon link at the top of the page whenever you shop at Amazon.
The clup will get a small percentage. The collective total usually comes pretty close to covering our monthly costs. :)

Good deal. I will be using that link every time I shop on Amazon or any of the other sites.
