As for the pitting, swamprb posted the following pic in his wanted ad. Looks like a winning combo to me and I'm going to try it on one of my kettles that has the same issue. How does that red hold up to heat
@swamprb ? If you paint, you can scrape off the excess with a razor scraper leaving paint only within the previously bare spots. I used black stove paint on the a kettle years ago and it stopped any further damage and lasted a good number of years.
