I'd change it to Red Limited Edition Premium Kettle Grill. Not much original there. If they made a new red $99 OTS I might consider it.

I would take out Limited Edition too.  ;)  More of these will be made than reg. black MT or OTS if they sell well, but I doubt it. But, I am confident I could still walk into any bbq store next year and get one if I wanted.

Anyone know how many of these Red are being produced?  There has to be cut off if they are limited edition.

BBQ Jack

Based on the pics it is black on the inside. I agree Weber should offer additional colors on the OTS for its loyal customers. If they can offer the Q1200 in multiple colors why not the kettle. I see people paying $500 for kettles from Europe with colors that you cannot get in the USA. This should not be. Get with it Weber we are not stupid.  As for this limited red model if $199 makes you happy then that is a small price to pay for happiness. It will make a great Christmas gift. The Weber partners are smiling all the way to the bank making us happy but so what they have a good product.  This grill would also be great to put away unopened to leave to your grandchildren who can sell it to a future Kettle collector

Pretty sure the lid bales that go deeper are only on the performers.  The MT ones are standard.  Might have something to do with the grill tipping over.

I noticed if the grill lid is positioned how I would have it, when you got to tip it back the top vent will hit. And it will not allow it to go all the way back. Either way though, idc!!! I just want it

I guess i can't buy it!!..Think America only.....

Dickson Barbecue in Toronto shows them on their main page.

I realize your in Sarnia (I've actually Been there), so I'm assuming you can buy them other places in Canada.

If not maybe we could make a trade for a Canada available kettle.

If it's a US only product, he's in an ideal location since all he's got to do is cross the Blue Water Bridge and go to the nearest American Weber dealer.

If you want to buy it, show them any number of other places that will put it in your car for $199

Just curious, but which retailer is this?

It was a place about 45 min away from me when we all thought these would be a limited item and the big box stores/amazon wouldn't be getting them. I was there once when I first got into grilling and they stock all the Weber accessories and such, it's a fancy mom&pop place I think, in suburbs of Philadelphia, Pa. The Lowes and Home Depot are 5 min down the road.. so it's not really worth the effort to drive all the way there anyway.

Makes sense. I only have older performers and never really looked at the master touch.

I called a local True Value Hardware store that stocks a lot of the Weber line, though mostly the more expensive gassers. He had never heard of it and initially thought I was talking about crimson. He looked it up in the True Value inventory system and found them. It said that 206 would be in stock and available for him to order next week. Now, I don't know if that's corporate wide or if that's just in the nearest regional distribution center.
I agree that they are making more of these than we anticipated, but I don't see them making more reds than blacks.

Looking forward to seeing more pics of these. Congrats on everyone that has gotten one so far.

What are the chances that if sales go well for these we will see another limited edition grill in a different color?

You're surely correct.

The way retailing normally works is that re-orders happen automatically, based on the initial product decision that happened whenever the thing became available. Any retailer who didn't realize, didn't pay attention to, nor didn't care about the Limited Edition Red's announcement wouldn't be carrying/stocking it *ever* unless some Grillfella taps them on the shoulder.

That alone will severely limit its distribution, and in a practical sense, "availability." Weber must know this. Good luck with those future craigslist searches!

Just consider the green/copper/crimson 22.5" kettles. In the spring, your H-D or Lowe's might have a display that shows the colored lids. Same with the colored Q1200's. They have a placard that says they can be special ordered, just in case your AMAZON is broken? And by summertime, that display is gone, and "so are the colored kettles" effectively.

I don't really see it translating into other colors such as what Europe has been offered. Extra colors require more distribution and support than Weber really cares about for the U.S. market. The marketing effort for this grill amounts to a temporary push that'll soon fade, just as with the green/copper/crimson 22.5" kettles that must really "sell themselves."

Notice that our existing "colored" models are NOT the true "premium" models, only the (black) Master-Touch is.
