Has anyone actually confirmed that this grill is made in China or anything otherwise different than previous grills?

And by "confirmed" what I'm looking for is something factual, not 'heard it"
This is what I received from weber

I am not sure what is made where anymore.  But, I think all other kettles are made in USA, with materials and components that are sourced globally.  I avoided buying this grill, in part, because I am concerned that if this grill does well, more kettles will be made elsewhere because of labor costs, and thus less jobs will remain here.  My decision has nothing to do with worry about the quality of the product or bias against any particular country or group.  I hope that all who purchase the LE receive quality kettles and enjoy them for years.
I like my Kettles like my coffee....strong and black.

I bought a new red kettle and wasn't planning on opening it until spring when my house addition was completed. I have since seen all of the posts of "poor quality" i decided to open it up, the only thing i can see is a small red paint run on the inside of the lid that came through the vent lid during the painting process. Over the last 15 years or so I've had countless new and used Weber products all of witch were of astounding quality, the few times that i had a issue Weber has stepped forward with their amazing customer support. Are any of the new kettles of the same quality as those from yesteryear? No. Are today's cars constructed of the same quality as years past? No. Lighter gauge steel, bolt on handles and foreign outsourcing are sacrifices that have to be made to provide a quality product at a fair price. I'd love to have a new kettle made of the same quality and made in the USA as my '77 brownie. Am I willing to pay what that kettle would cost? NO. What i do have is a nice looking red kettle that I will enjoy for years to come (that is if my home addition is ever completed).

I think that's well put @randy .  I don't want to pay $200 for the new red + taco grill but that's just me.  It's probably a fine cooker.  I've only been here 2 years and there has been a lot of requests for a new red grill or for Weber to bring back the colors of old.  I think it's cool that they actually listened and followed through.  Now, if they make a new Dove Gray, Yellow, or even Copper Mist and Red Mist then I'll probably be in even with the taco.  Congrats to all the fellas getting their new red, hopefully someone starts a new thread called "LE Redhead Cook Pics".
Looking for: Red MBH 26"(The Aristocrat), Chestnut-coppertone (The Estate), Glen-blue (The Imperial), and The Plainsman.

I wonder if it's the same factory that's stamping out the chargriller kettleman?

It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

Just wanna say thanks for removing those remarks. I didn't see them, having not been around much lately due to real life getting in the way.

I haven't had the chance to see the grill in the flesh yet.

I'm disappointed in the number of pics of dings, dents, scrapes, and shitty coating that have shown up already. Wth.

I may not be motivated to buy one of these NVLs (Not Very Limited), but I want them to be of usual Weber high quality!

Okay... the Red can not be made in the USA 🇺🇸 they have no way to do the red porcelain enamel here. So it's done in China 🇨🇳. We all of us @ WKC have wanted this for a long time. I have bought 3 of them 1 cooker 1 for the kid and 1 for the other house. As for quality mine are good, few flaws but I have bought new in USA & other countries that have had flaws.

Call Weber same warranties apply. Let's not screw this up. They "Weber" may come up with a few more we like if we stop all the BS.

That's my opinion anyway. And you know what they say about opinions...
Wife said "No more GRILLS in this house!" So I bought a 2nd house!

BTW, I checked mine out at Lowe's before I even paid for it.  They didn't care at all.  Guess I got lucky mine had no flaws.  I don't care where it was made.  Very nice cooker.
