Does the knob rub against the lid? You think you could do this with an 8 ball?

It doesn't rub against the lid.  An eight ball might not want to stay where you want it due to gravity.  There are larger knobs available.  I wanted something stout. The one inch bolt seemed to work perfect if you wanted it close. You could go to two inches easily

Knob never heated up. Of course it was just a Ribeye and the cook was only 6-8 minutes.
