There were so many amazing scores this weekend, guys!  It was very cool to see all the awesome acquisitions and I wanted to say congrats to all the grillfellas that brought 'em home and into the WKC.  Keep up the good work with those RRR's!

I picked one up as well.  This 18" brownie was listed on CL for $55 and was about a 6 hour round trip to Tampa and back:

Although it lacks the ash pan, the rest of this brave is in good shape.  I haven't had much time to clean it, but here are a few pics.
I believe it's a '78, but check out this weird upside down "D" on the vent, anyone seen this before?!
SocializingIf you look really close, it looks like the fade has a bit of a crazing pattern in it. The lid handle is broken but usable, and the lid itself has a nice peel.
I'll post the finished product later, but wanted to share with y'all and say thanks again to everyone for posting their RRR's.

Sweet find man. Want to score a MBH pretty bad. Those never come around my area.

Nice score! There's been a couple of 1978s out there that have this "D" on the lid vent. Do the bowl vents have this D at all? Not sure if that was Webers code for "demo" at that time or not.

It's always great seeing these old kettles go from under appreciated to all shined up. Nice one!

I inspected the lower bowl vents and I don't see a "D" on any of them.  Maybe they'll appear once I get them cleaned really good.  Interesting hypothesis regarding "D" = "demo".  The seller said this brownie came down from Ohio when he retired, but no other additional information.

Those Brownies may be the mist underrated color of all.  I think they're cool as hell.  Nice pick up.  How many cups of coffee was the trip?  That would be a three coffee trip for me.
