Today’s oops!!!

I dropped my lid, I’m pretty upset. Thinking a wire stich repair with epoxy.

Looks like just the wood handle took a hit. Any dents on the lid or rim? Lose any of that faded porcelain?  If it’s just the wood, order a new handle from Brian.

Looking for: Red MBH 26"(The Aristocrat), Chestnut-coppertone (The Estate), Glen-blue (The Imperial), and The Plainsman.

I’m going to try to repair the handle. It’s too good looking as a weathered warrior to put a shiny handle on it. And just the wood got any “damage” tiny knicks in the finish; but nothing you can see on it without searching for it.

Also, tonight’s cook. Aided with a Bayou Classic jet burner.

Overall a great enjoyable cook.

Cajun dry rub wings and Jamaican jerk wings with grilled broccoli and cauliflower and a good ole crawfish boil.

A very enjoyable meal with the wife and a couple friends.

Drum sticks with brussel sprouts and wild rice.

How are the brussel sprouts under the grate? We love brussel sprouts and I need to try grilling them.
Together we'll fight the long defeat.

I didn’t get a picture of the sprouts on the grill. I just used a grill basket and tossed them around every now and then.

Cooked up a shoulder for pulled pork. I’ve gone sophisticated and got myself the Weber iGrill 2. Slept like a baby as my grill chugged away at the cook.

Wrapped up and waiting. Used Gulden’s brown mustard and a dry rub with brown sugar, Kona coffee and other rub ingredients.

Grill prepped with basic KBB and apple wood chips

Got the probes set and placed

Woke up to this in the morning after a restful sleep.

Hopefully everyone else likes the flavor. It definitely has a kick in the bark which hopefully shouldn’t be too much. It’s been resting wrapped up since 7am waiting for this afternoon to be torn apart.

All nestled in its bed

Also threw together an apple vinegar based sauce.

Hopefully it all tastes great. I’ll let you all know

Well, my life is changing; but it’s for the better. Going to be a single man again. So far this means I’m grilling and smoking constantly.  God help my midsection.

Within the last week I’ve had a few cooks.

5 racks of ribs

Over 30 wings at once

And my first brisket!

Everyone loved the brisket. But I have a few ideas to make it better next time.

Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill

And whoops!

Picked up a 1980 MBH, looks to be in pretty great condition. I’ll dig into and scrub her down later.

Got my new MBH set up and cleaned up for cooking. Also did another chicken wing cook too.

Made a sweet dry rub with a kick. Used brown sugar, maple sugar, cumin, paprika, ground mustard, cayenne, black pepper, garlic powder, salt and chile powder.

Positive reviews all around. Now ready to do some cooking on my new MBH.

Today I may be getting my first gasser. Finally found a Weber I’d like to have for quick weeknight cooks that’s not too far away. Owner says it’s in rough shape but we will see. The hardest part will be taking it apart to fit in my little Veloster if I do pick it up.
