I had some errand to run tonight, in a area I never been to.  I had some time to kill while in the area so I checked out a Home and Leisure Place that carry Weber lines of product close by. I have never been to one of these places before.  It is huge place with all kinds of BBQ grills and parts. No deals like you guys are getting on clearance in States, but prices are not that bad. I pick up Weber tool hook and charcoal starter cubes at $5.99 each. They also had SS flip up grates for $29.99.

It is about 15 mins to closing time, so no other customers. I go to pay and to see what I could get the Ivory for as they had one in the showroom. We start talking for about 5 to 10 mins about Special Edition Kettles and out of nowhere, he says that he has a brand new spring green bowl he is scraping at the back. He says if I want it I could for free.  :o  I say sure and we both walk out to the back of the building where the box is sitting on the ground beside the large garbage bin.  Score!

But, that is not the main story.  It  is scrape because Weber forgot to drill 3 holes for lid bale assy. :o :o :o
That is exactly what I need for my build I am doing. I was going to plug those holes on my project green bowl anyways. So I got a ONE-OFF bowl Weber specially made for me for free.  Other big bonus I did not realize at the time, is that with an extra bowl and my performer green lid, I could build all green Performer. :D :) :)  That would be another project for later. Or build another kettle with it later.

What are the chances of something like this happening.  :) :) :)

Brand new without holes

Lets just say I have acquired a few Kettles.  Big and small.   Vintage and New...  Some say I have a problem.  I find the Kettle, buy the Kettle, USE the Kettle...No problem...

Yeah! What's also amazing is that among other heavy and large scraps, it was neatly on the ground by itself in the box beside the large scrap bin outside. They could have easily dumped it inside the bin with other heavy scraps on top.

I just saved it in time too, as it would have been gone by this weekend.
