Well it has been a long time coming to bring to the forefront. This was obtained by a local. He brought it to my attention first, when he spotted the CL ad.
He had never seen one and wanted to verify it was the real deal. Confirmed, "I said go for it NOW!"  Locally, we all step down on a another's find, not to drive up the price. There are a few locals, not our group, that will start a bidding war. This was back in Oct/Nov. He secured the grill through a friend, to agent. The Ranger was
located in Fargo, but I know many already know, as the selling party was inundated with offers. But this CL seller was not a flake and held to "Original" asking price,
first come first served.

After him having it for a couple months, he decided he is into the hunt and find, but not keeping them for a collection. He asked if I was interested in it. Heck yes!
He knows and I actually told him to go to eBay, as he could have financial gains that avenue. He didn't want to go that route, so he through out a figure, after some
thought. Some conversing and an agreement was made.

The story of the grill. It is was a one owner grill. Sellers purchased it in the Carolinas. They relocated to Fargo some years back.
They decided to sell this grill, even with their attachment, because the were worried that parts were no longer available. Well they
are correct! Considering it is 50 years old and is actually of poor design, it has come back to life.

Few things of note. Yes, it has some flaws. The two front mounts had about one inch holes. Now filled with 1-1/2 SS washers.
The bicycle grips, NLA. They are 1", standard is 7/8. Not sure were Weber sourced them. I did order some off eBay that I thought
would fit the ticket. Color quality of picture was inaccurate. It was also missing the ash pan. Thanks to a member(you know who you are) was
able to give me some dimensions. BIL has a break press, boom my little drawing and it was made in 15 minutes. What took the most time, was finding
breaks in the upper Midwest weather. We had a few days where able to get on this.

Now some pics!

In Fargo

Color is called Burnt Orange, here it is against an EZ mist lid

To the paint booth

The handles, NLA, paint doesn't look to bad :o

The wheel... Made an axel, bolt is not how they came from the factory. Tire fell prior to the final assembly :-[ Repair and then painted

Final assembly!

Thanks for looking!

Looks great Greg! You did an excellent job. Well done sir.
This is the original Weber kettle. The most powerful bbq grill in the world and can blow your taste-buds clean off! So, you have to ask yourself one question: "Do you feel hungry? Well, do you punk?"

glrasmussen

@Shoestringshop Everthing is SS now. I could have used acorn nuts, just wanted to stay period correct for this piece.
It is !00% better than the original hardware.

Love that color. Kinda wish all non-table kettles could be moved like wheel barrows.
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

Greg, awesome score! Good to see it being done the right way, keep it up!
Not everyone deserves to know the real you. Let them criticize who they think you are.

Amazing! Great restoration. It's awesome to know there are still great deals to be discovered.
