You can't even go on vacation without snagging and cleaning a vintage kettle.
Freak.
lol - my kick ass mom picked this beauty up for me a couple months ago in Palm Springs! ... And some other "Freak" picked up a second kettle that is also here that I might even like more than this Cado
Sound familiar?
What did you use to clean?
The only things I used for this was a razor scraper, a small flathead screwdriver, steel wool and water. I will use it and get it dirty but anything that comes home gets a 100% clean before joining the rest of the troops.
When I first started I actually thought it was going to be a super fast cleanup but I think the grime that was in there had baked on in the desert sun over the course of 40 years. I have multiple hours into this one and haven't touched anything other than the kettle section itself.
Can't wait for warmer kettle time (playtime) weather. I've been chomping at the bit to clean mine up for the new year.
I hear ya! It's still pretty cold back home so this was a nice little warm-up for spring
the legs are killing him.
he's either shining them up right now or he's thinking about shining them up right now.
Bwahaha good eye - I don't have my standard "toolkit" here so the legs, triangle and ashpan will have to wait till I get them home.
On an odd side note, the razor blades I picked up down here were garbage compared to the ones we get back home. If you guys are using the generic ones sold at Lowes look around for higher quality ones if possible (Stanley brand are good) I went through probably twice as many as usual this time.
